Expert Guidance
in the College Admissions Process

Navigating the college admissions landscape can be stressful.

I should know - I'm a high school counselor, English teacher, and mom. I understand firsthand the pressures our teenagers (and families) experience during the college application process.

That's where I can help! I guide students through the entire college process from creating a custom list of schools tailored to a student's unique interests to helping students write a "stand out" activities resume and college essay that tell a cohesive story.

With me as your guide, you'll know exactly what needs to be done when, removing the uncertainty so we can focus on the joy of finding your dream school.

Why Use a College Consultant?

When I applied to college in the late 90s, I applied to exactly one school (Rutgers University) and wrote exactly one essay. I completed my application from start to finish in a weekend and continued on with my senior year secure in the knowledge that I would be accepted.

That is not today's college application process. Each admissions cycle colleges are reporting an increasing number of applicants, making the field significantly more competitive. A strong GPA and test score isn't enough to guarantee acceptance. Students must also tell a story through their honors, activities, personal statement, and supplemental essays that highlights their strengths while appealing to each college's mission statement.

Lisa has nearly 15 years of experience in education - formerly an English teacher, Lisa has spent the past decade working as a high school counselor and college counselor. From Big 10 Schools (like University of Illinois Urbana Champaign, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and The Ohio State University) to selective small and mid-size schools (like Oberlin College, WashU St Louis, and Vanderbilt University) all the way to the Ivy League, she's helped hundreds of students write compelling essays and craft successful  application packages.

With one child in 8th grade and another in 12th grade (who was just admitted to his #1 dream school!) Lisa understands how deeply personal and emotional this process can be.  She's ready to be more than a college coach and project manager - she's ready to be your family's sounding board and cheerleader, too.

As a dedicated college consultant, I support students and families throughout the entire college application journey. My goal is to help students find "their right fit" in a college and then build an application that gets them Accepted!
